We’re so excited to have some of our favorite people from both sides of the Atlantic all in one place. To ensure maximum fun (and just a little bit of chaos), we’ve put together a completely unnecessary, but hopefully entertaining guide.
Yes, they really are that friendly
Americans don’t need an introduction to start chatting—they’ll happily strike up a conversation anywhere, anytime. This is normal, and we promise—it’s genuine.
Texans will bring energy
Expect big personalities, lots of laughter, and very strong hospitality. You may be offered a drink within 30 seconds. Accept it.
Volume levels may be higher than usual
Excitement can come across as enthusiasm… and sometimes a bit of volume. It’s all part of the charm.
“How are you?” requires more than “fine”
It’s not just a greeting—it’s an invitation for a quick, upbeat response. “Good, how are you?” works perfectly.
Understatement is a sport
If something is described as “quite nice,” it’s exceptional. If something is “not ideal,” it may be catastrophic. Read between the lines.
Apologizing is a reflex
You’ll likely hear “sorry” even when no one is at fault. This is normal. No one is apologizing to you—just go with it.
Queueing is serious business
Lines will be respected at all costs. Even in situations where there isn’t really a line… there somehow is.
Dry humor is constant
If you’re not sure whether something is a joke, it is. Probably.
